Nicky Romero Shares New Avicii Collaboration With Vocals From Chris Martin

When Billboard reached out to Nicky Romero in the wake of Avicii’s passing, we learned that the collaborators and friends were still sharing files. They’d last spoken about a month before the 28-year-old producer was found dead, but Romero must have been moved to finish some of those open sessions as a means to honor his “I Could Be the One” co-creator.

He dedicated a new song to his fallen friend during a recent set at Kingsland Festival in Amsterdam. The track is called “Heaven,” and it sounds like it features vocals from Coldplay’s Chris Martin. It’s a big, bold anthem with a cheerful melody in line with Avicii’s style. The crowd reacts positively in a fan-made video, holding lights up in the sky.

We can only imagine what it might have sounded like if Avicii were able to finish the song with Romero in the studio. Listen to the live recording of “Heaven” below.

This is official Simon Aldred’s vocal version. Vocal version with Chris Martin is not released for now, it’s all about Tim’s family, if they decide to release this song and all other unreleased Tim’s stuff, the official track with Chris Martin will see the light of the day. Also, we had to do this video in loving memory of our friend, son and icon of electronic dance music, please watch till it’s end.
